Acting Prime Minister Hon. Jone Usamate this afternoon closed the 37th Asia Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators in Nadi.

The week-long meeting for heads of the correctional facilities from the Asia Pacific region provides them an opportunity to share, to learn, and to reflect, and understand the progress and the challenges that exist in the course of their responsibilities as correctional administrators.

The theme for this year’s APCCA was “Leadership in Rehabilitation”.

“As we conclude APCCA 2017, it is my sincere hope that what we have discussed and talked about in the conference will be
realistically applied and as you convene in the next conference you do so with new knowledge and ideas derived from what we
have achieved our meeting here in Nadi Fiji,” he said.

The 2018 APCCA conference will be held in Malaysia.
