AG AT BUDGET CONSULTATION AT VASHIST MUNI COLLEGE IN NAVUA

Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum held 2018 – 2019 National Budget consultations with high school students from Navua and Namosi at the Vashist Muni College. The nationwide public consultation is aimed at getting Fijians’ input into the national budget and see where more funds are needed to bring further economic growth. The students were briefed on the developments in the various sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, social protection system, employment rate and Fiji’s debt level. The students raised questions on Tertiary Education Loan Scheme, TOPPERS scholarship, school policies, effects of climate change, bridge repairs, and teachers quarters. Students from Lomary Secondary School, Nuku Secondary School, Namosi Secondary School, Rampur College and Vashist Muni College took part in the budget consultation.
