Two settlements in the Nadroga province will from today be able to have access to information through the switching on of Walesi Digital television by the Attorney General Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

The settlements are Nakorokula Village and Nakorokula farming settlement along the Momi-Lomawai backroad.

The two settlements previously did not have access to television and while some areas received transmission, the signals were not clear.

Speaking at the launching of the Walesi platform, Hon, Sayed-Khaiyum noted the plight for Fijians in rural and maritime zones who in the past did not have access to such facilities.

“What your government has done is that we have empowered you and you children through the access of information which now has eight (8) channels accessible to Fijians whether they live in Nadroga, Rotuma, or Kadavu or Lomaiviti or Lau – they will also have the same level of participation and knowledge through this platform,” he said.
