Minister for Forests, Hon. Osea Naiqamu today presented 22 graduating students of the Forestry Training Centre with their certificates for successfully completing a two-year course in Advance Certificate in Forest Management.

While officiating at the graduation ceremony at the Forestry Training Centre at Colo-i-Suva, Minister Naiqamu said the occasion was important for the forest sector development in Fiji as a whole.

To date, the Forestry Training Centre has awarded a total of 273 graduates with Forest Technician certificates.

“These graduates can enter the industry at Forest Guard level and also have the opportunity to advance their education to the Diploma or degree in Forest Management Program offered by the Fiji National University. Or they could pursue undergraduate and post-graduate studies in the field of forestry in overseas institutions through scholarships,” Minister Naiqamu said.

Meanwhile, Pauliasi Liga received the Dux award.
