Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport, Hon. Parveen Kumar Bala today officiated at the opening of a school gate, water supply and a classroom at Malamala Public School in Nadi.

Minister Bala congratulated the management and staff of the school for the new developments and said these were small but important steps to create the best learning and teaching environment for its students.

“As students of Malamala Public School, you should be proud of the developments, both small and big that makes your school better and better. On that note let me also remind all the students that as you are halfway through the school year, please strive for excellence in your exams and educational achievements for your school.”

Minister Bala also took the opportunity to create awareness on World Oceans Day and urged students to reduce plastic pollution and take on a ‘No Straw’ pledge.
