Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Mereseini Vuniwaqa today opened the Youth Speak Forum at University of Fiji in Saweni, Lautoka. With the theme ‘Empowering Youth from Decisions to Actions’, she said it was important for youths to understand the need to promote sustainable Development, build a more knowledge-based society in Fiji, combat extreme poverty around the world, along with socioeconomic inequality, corruption, and become responsible environment stewards. Fiji Youth Speak Forum 2018 aims to motivate and engage Pacific youth in meaningful discussions and support them to take concrete actions in fighting climate change and sustaining aquatic life and is organized by the Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) and AIESEC.
