Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Viam Pillay today opened the workshop on Cold Chain and Logistics Management on Agri-Food Products for Asia and Pacific in Nadi.

Attended by countries from the Asia-Pacific Region, the workshop will assess the current status of development of cold chain and logistics management for agri-food products in member countries.

Minister Pillay in opening the five-day workshop urged participants to share knowledge on new technologies and best practices in cold chain and logistics management system for agri-food products.

“In addition, formulate action plan for the development and promotion of cold chain systems in member countries,” he said.

“Through this workshop discuss the possible ways to improve the sector in the region and nationally to develop an action plan for the member countries.”

The workshop has been is being hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture to Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and Centre Integrated Rural Development for Asia and Pacific (CIRDAP).
