Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport, Hon. Parveen Kumar Bala officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony of Davuilevu Residential Subdivision this afternoon.

Minister Bala said the project undertaken by the Housing Authority was aimed at expanding access to affordable housing for low to middle income earning Fijians.

The ground breaking ceremony signified the development of 754 lots for those who want to build their own homes.

β€œThe project will be carried out in phases and out of the 754 lots, 301 residential lots will be completed by August next year with remaining lots to be completed by September 2019,” Minister Bala said.

The development would have all basic infrastructure like sewerage, water, electricity, roads, driveways, footpath and kerb and channel.
