Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Mereseini Vuniwaqa today officiated at the St. Teresa High School Prize Giving Ceremony, in Bemana Navosa.

In presenting the awards, the Minister thanked students and parents for their commitment towards education adding that Government’s vision was to see a smarter and well educated Fijian population.

Minister Vuniwaqa said, it was important for students to know their career paths and to follow a career in what they had passion for.

During her address and a talanoa session after the ceremony, Minister Vuniwaqa also took the opportunity to highlight the need to reduce domestic and sexual violence.

Sighting statistics, he said it was un-Fijian to see abuse of women and children.

She also urged the many men and youths to protect and love their family members especially women and children.
