Eighty recipients from Levuka today received their Micro and Small Business (MSB) Grant which amounts to a total of $78,528.96.

Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources Hon. Faiyaz Siddiq Koya disbursed the MSB Grants at the Levuka Town Hall in the old capital.

This is the 30th phase of the MSB Grant disbursement with Levuka being the final disbursement event for 2016/17 cycle of the initiative.

Minister Koya said since the inception of the event in 2014, the Fijian Government has invested a total of $16 million to support 16,685 recipients all over the country.

“So far the results of the Micro and Small Business Grant have been very positive towards improving the livelihood of at least 83,425 Fijians,” Minister Koya said.

Minister Koya urged the Levuka recipients to incorporate innovation, creativity and think outside the box in their business models.

The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism will monitor the grant recipients’ progress six months from now.
