In Education, News, Rebuilding Fiji

The Fijian Government’s commitment to ensuring that students in cyclone affected areas have their schools rehabilitated today saw the signing of an agreement between the Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama and Japanese Ambassador to Fiji Masahiro Omura.

The agreement will see the government of Japan providing funding worth $F5.24million to assist five schools under Fiji’s Adopt A School Program. The five schools include Varavu Sanatan Dharam School, Votua Catholic School, Vunibokoi District School, Namena District School and Lawaki District School.

In signing the agreement, Prime Minister Bainimarama acknowledged the Japanese government and thanked Ambassador Masahiro for their continuous support towards Fiji.

The project will be implemented through Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Program (GGP).
