THE construction of the new $40 million Damodar City site in Labasa will soon begin and FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama was Chief Guest the groundbreaking ceremony.

While delivering his keynote address to more than 400 people gathered at the site, our Leader said investor confidence was booming like never before.

“The private sector sees the strength and stability of the nation’s economy, and is making it clear that Fiji is an opportune place for their long-term business prospects,” he said.

“Damodar City Labasa plans to have even more features than its counterpart in Suva, covering over double the amount of land–– around 8 acres in total, compared to Suva’s 3.5-acre grounds–– and encompassing a 4-star hotel, high-tech cinemas with a premier event lounge, a department store, and one of the largest supermarkets in all of Fiji.”

This is will generate many more job opportunities for people in the North.

It is thanks to FijiFirst that investor confidence in our Fiji is now higher than ever before and will continue to grow.
