In COP23, Disaster Preparedness, News, Rebuilding Fiji

Prime Minister and COP23 President Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama is calling on nations to do more to raise the ambition of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for reducing greenhouse gas and emissions. He made this call today during the wrap-up meeting of the Presidencies Talanoa Dialogue in Bonn, Germany. Prime Minister Bainimarama said he was encouraged to see delegates actively engage in the processes, and embracing the Talanoa Spirit. “Please make it easier for us to gain access to finance, we need to build resilience. Please do more to embrace the opportunities that will flow for your own people and the whole world from the transition to net-zero emissions economies. Work with us as members of the great human family to confront this challenge once and for all. We are all in the same canoe and time is running out. Please show the leadership that the world so desperately needs.
